About the Journal

Science and Discovery (Fan va kashfiyot) is a scholarly and applied journal. It is founded by CENTRAL SCIENCE PRESS LLC, published in Uzbek, Russian and English, and distributed online. Official website: fanvakashfiyot.uz

Focus and Scope

The journal publishes research in economics, tourism, marketing, accounting, econometrics, management, the social sciences and humanities, and linguistics.

Its aims are to:

publish research by scholars, doctoral candidates, independent researchers and practitioners;
develop scholarly links and provide a forum for interdisciplinary exchange;
support the application of research results in practice;
support the work of early-career researchers;
broaden cooperation with the international scholarly community.

The journal does not publish political advocacy, advertising material, or texts without a scholarly basis.

Peer Review Process

Every submission first undergoes a technical check covering compliance with formatting requirements and text originality. A manuscript with an originality score below 70 per cent is not sent for review.

Manuscripts that pass the technical check are sent for double-blind peer review: reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and authors do not know the identity of the reviewers. Each manuscript is assessed by at least one and, where necessary, two independent reviewers. Review is completed within 15 days of submission.

Following review, one of the following decisions is taken: accept without changes; accept after minor revisions; return for revision and a second round of review; decline.

Authors of declined manuscripts receive a reasoned decision. Reviews are retained by the editorial office for three years. Manuscripts by members of the editorial board are reviewed under the same procedure, and no other board member acts as reviewer.

Publication Frequency

The journal is published 12 times a year, monthly, with each issue released in the last week of the month. An issue runs to 6–10 printed sheets (96–160 pages).

An accepted article may be published on the website individually, without waiting for the next issue (online first). Such an article is considered published from the date it appears and may be cited; it is subsequently included in a regular issue.

The editorial office may publish special issues on a particular theme or based on conference proceedings.

Publication Ethics

The editorial office follows the international principles of publication ethics set out by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).

Plagiarism, duplicate publication, data falsification and inappropriate authorship are grounds for rejection.

Where a significant error is found in a published article, the editorial office issues a correction in the next issue and, where necessary, retracts the article and announces this on the website.

Reviewers and editorial staff do not disclose the content of a manuscript under consideration to third parties and do not use it for personal purposes. A reviewer with a conflict of interest withdraws from considering the manuscript.

Editorial Board

The editorial board is an advisory body responsible for the scholarly standard of the journal. It includes at least one specialist holding a Doctor of Science (DSc) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree for each subject area covered by the journal, and provides for the participation of international scholars. It meets at least twice a year.

Funding

The journal is funded by the founder. Other sources not prohibited by law may also be used. Any charges related to review and publication are set by the editorial office and published openly on the journal website.
